About The School

A Community of Enthusiastic Learners

Natchaug Elementary School is a strong, caring, and diverse community devoted to the development of each student. Each day Natchaug is infused with an influx of people, talents, and potential. Children enter ready to learn, wanting to learn, and needing to learn. And so, we at Natchaug make a difference in the live of our children one at a time. Our goal is to help each child reach the tremendous promise and opportunity that will shape the future.

Natchaug is one of the few elementary schools in Connecticut that has been granted accreditation and full membership in the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Our school community maintains high standards of academic achievement and personal responsibility for our students.

Natchaug is a Professional School with the University of Connecticut Neag School of Education as well as the home of an after school tutoring program staffed by UCONN students. Also, Natchaug has partnerships with Eastern Connecticut State University, the Willimantic Public Library, and the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.

The Family Resource Center at Natchaug works closely with the school staff to sponsor family services and facilitate home/school community communication. The Parent Teacher Organization also sponsors a wide variety of family functions that bring school and family together in meaningful ways.
