Natchaug Elementary Family Liaison, Angel Rivera, works cooperatively with students, adult family members, school staff and community partners supplying services that will benefit students and their families and supporting the educational programs, activities, and community of the school. Liaisons assist with planning, organizing and implementing family events in their school. They also identify resources and services from the community to strengthen school programs. They provide information and ideas to families about how to help students at home with home curriculum-related activities. The family liaison collaborates with school staff to support non-English speaking parents and students.
The family liaison is the point of contact for parents wishing to volunteer within the school.
Parent trainings are conducted annually by family liaisons in Common Sense Parenting (CSP) and People Empowering People (PEP). A Raising Readers parent club is also held to provide parents/guardians with information they need to be successful in fostering their child's literacy development.
For questions, concerns or to find out how you can get involved at your students school please contact Angel Rivera at 860.465.2386 or stop by his office located in Room 122.
